You Shall Know
I, the Lord, have spoken it; it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not hold back, nor will I spare, nor will I relent… and they shall know that I am the Lord. —Ezekiel 24: 14, 27
God told Ezekiel of the complete destruction about to come upon Jerusalem. He said, “I have spoken it; it shall come to pass.” On the very same day Ezekiel marked that calendar, which was to be the beginning of the end, the Babylonians began the siege against Jerusalem. God fulfilled His Word.
**When God fulfills His Word concerning the end times and begins to pour out His judgment upon the earth, people will know that He is God.
Many people today challenge the Word of God. They scoff at the promises of Jesus, thereby fulfilling the prophecy given by Peter, when he said, “Scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming?'” (2 Peter 3: 3-4). These mockers view the Bible as a collection of fanciful stories created by men who needed to believe in something. But they have no explanation for why Bible prophecies have come to pass so accurately. How important it is for us to acknowledge God and surrender our lives to Him now. His judgment is coming, and only those who are His will escape the coming of His wrath.
Father, speak to our hearts through Your Word, that we might realize the certainty of those things You have declared. May we walk after You and commit ourselves fully and completely to You. In the name of Jesus we ask, amen.
