Truth – God’s formula for success
Truth
I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father. —2 John 4
What is truth? Today’s philosophy says that “since truth is relative,” then anything you believe to be true is true. But those who follow this thinking have rejected genuine truth. Paul said that God had clearly revealed Himself to man through creation, but man “exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator” (Romans 1: 25).
***God is truth; He is the final authority for truth. “Take that to the bank”
God is not discovered through intellectual quest, but through written revelation—through the Bible. The Bible is God’s Word, and therefore God’s truth. When praying for the disciples, Jesus said, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your Word is truth” (John 17: 17).
What is truth? The truth is that you have been created by an all-wise Creator. You didn’t evolve through a long process of accidental circumstances, but were created for a specific purpose. The truth is that the eternal almighty God who created you loves you and wants what is best for you, so He provided a means for your salvation—His Son, Jesus Christ—and a means for abundant life—His rules for living, the Bible. And if you will submit your life to God’s Son and follow God’s rules, you will experience joyful life on earth, and eternal life in heaven. (Did I hear you say , amen?) That is God’s formula for your success. The enemy will do everything possible to thwart that formula remember!!
Father, how thankful we are that You have given Your Word, whereby we can know Your truth—the only truth. Give us a love for Your Word and a desire to submit ourselves to it. In Jesus’ name, amen.
