Triumph of Faith

Triumph of Faith
For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me! —Job 19: 25-27
There were many things that Job did not know: he didn’t know why he had lost everything, or why he was in this miserable condition, or why he had to suffer such pain. But Job knew one thing: “My Redeemer lives.” And this was what he clung to. Everyone recognizes that Job endured his afflictions with patience. The secret of his patience is faith. It is because of what Job believed that he was able to patiently endure all the sufferings that he did not understand.
**Never let go of what you do know because of something you don’t know.
What did Job believe that caused him to have such great patience? First, Job believed that God was in control of every circumstance that came into his life. The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Secondly, he understood that God was for him. Though his wife turned against him, and his friends condemned him and accused him of heinous sins, he knew that God was on his side. God is on your side too. When things are confusing or hard to understand, remember that.
Father, we are thankful for the triumph of faith that brings us to glorious victory. Teach us to trust You as Job did and to patiently endure the dark night as we wait for the new day to dawn, the day of Your glorious kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
