The Way of the Righteous
The Way of the Righteous
In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death. —Proverbs 12: 28
In order that we might know what it is to be righteous, God gave Moses the Ten Commandments. The first four commandments declared what it took to be right with God. The next six commandments listed what was necessary to be right with man. If we just left the story there, we would be in a lot of trouble, because none of us could ever be righteous. But because He knew man could not live up to that standard of righteousness, God established another criteria. If we just put our trust in God, He would account that faith as righteousness.
What are you trusting? You are trusting that the eternal God, the Creator of this universe, so loved the world, (and that includes you), that He sent His only begotten Son to die for your sins and to take your guilt.
***Jesus promised that those who believed in Him would never die.
Jesus doesn’t promise that we will live forever in these bodies, but that we will live forever in God’s presence—never to experience separation from Him. Writing to the Ephesians, Paul said, “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2: 1).
By putting your trust in Jesus Christ, you can be made spiritually alive today. You can become conscious of God, of His love, and of His purpose and plan for your life.
Father, we thank You for Your provisions whereby we have been accounted righteous. Help us, Lord, to live in that righteousness, in the path of which there is no death. In Jesus’ name, amen.
