The Promises of God
The Promises of God
Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses. —1 Kings 8: 56
In Leviticus 26, God promised Moses He would give the people the land and peace within it.
In Leviticus 26: 11, God also said, “And I will establish My tabernacle in the midst of the people.” Here, in 1 Kings, Solomon is dedicating that very temple, and he takes the opportunity to remind the people of God’s promise. Though it took Him 490 years, not a single word failed of all that God promised to do.
**God keeps His promise; not a single word has failed.
You had better really pay attention to what God says. The fact that God is so exacting in keeping His word will either bring great encouragement to your heart, or it will bring terror. It all depends on where you are in relationship to Him.
I am so thrilled that God keeps His word faithfully, for He has promised that if I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I am going to be saved. God has promised if I will confess Jesus before men, He will confess me before His Father. God has promised that if I receive Him, I will have eternal life.
Father, even as Solomon could testify of Your faithfulness, so we, some three thousand years later, can give the same witness and the same testimony of Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
