Serve the Lord With Gladness
SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS
Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, therefore you shall serve your enemies… —Deuteronomy 28:47-48
What an honor it is to be chosen by God to be His special people! And yet with this honor comes an awesome responsibility. We are to be God’s witness to the world. We are to show them the joy that comes to those who follow and serve the Lord, that they might also be drawn to Him and submit their lives to His lordship.
WE ALL SERVE SOMEONE. IN THIS LIFE YOU’LL EITHER SERVE SATAN, OR YOU’LL SERVE GOD.
Those who serve Satan are at home in this world. They are comfortable because they blend right in. But the end result of serving Satan is death.
Those who serve God are aliens in this world. That is because the closer you draw to God, the more out of step you will feel with this world. But ours is a loving Master who is concerned about you and desires the very best for your life. And He will prepare you emotionally, physically, and spiritually to do whatever work He’s called you to do for His good pleasure.
Serving the Lord is a privilege and a blessing. If the work you are doing is what God has called you to do, then you won’t find it unbearable, intolerable, or heavy. He said, “My yoke is easy, My burden is light.”
Instead, you will find yourself serving with joy. Lord, help us to undertake the work You’ve created us to do with gladness. May we discover the joy, contentment, and satisfaction of serving You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Only One Life, ‘Twill Soon Be Past – Poem by C T Stud from TrueChristian
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last. And when I am dying, how happy I’ll be, If the lamp of my life has been burned out for Thee.
