WISDOM FOR TODAY

Possess Your Possessions

Possess Your Possessions
But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. —Obadiah 1: 17
God had promised to give Israel the whole land, all the way to the Mediterranean Sea. It was theirs already—all they had to do was to put their foot down and claim it. Sadly, they failed to do that. They limited what God would have given them. Paul described God as, “Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3: 20). There is no limit to what God can do.
**We are the ones who limit our blessings.
Do you have that rest, joy, and peace that God has promised? If not, then you are not possessing your possessions. You have failed to take all of the territory that belongs to you. Too many Christians are discouraged, worried, and defeated instead of experiencing that fullness of joy that God wants His children to experience. If you don’t have that indescribable joy, then you haven’t possessed all of your possessions. It’s there; it’s available for you—you just haven’t taken it yet.
The Lord speaks of the coming day when Jacob will possess his possessions. We can possess our possessions today. Don’t settle for a mediocre life below the level that God wants you to live. Let’s pursue the things of God, let’s pursue the power of God; let’s pursue an anointing of the Spirit of God.
Believe… and take what is yours.
Lord, we thank You for Your precious promises. Help us to rely upon Your strength and to claim those places of victory You have for us. Amen.
