No Secret Sin
No Secret Sin
But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out. —Numbers 32: 23
Forty years of wandering have ended. Israel is now at the border ready to go into the land. But the elders from Reuben and Gad don’t want to go across; they are content to remain on this side of the Jordan. “We promise to send troops to fight until you take the whole land,” they told Moses. “Then we will return and dwell on this side.”
Moses warned them that if they didn’t do as promised, they would sin against the Lord—and their sin would find them out.
What sin? He’s talking about the sin of omission, the sin of doing nothing. And I suggest that this is the sin of the silent majority. Evil will prevail in our land if we just stand back and do nothing.
**There is no such thing as secret sin.
The Bible tells us that everything is naked and open before God. He so surrounds your life that nothing can be done secretly.
You can be sure your sin will find you out in your conscience and your countenance. And it will find you out in the end. One day you will stand before God where all secrets will be revealed. I am so thankful for Jesus.
The Bible tells us, “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1: 9).
Father, plant Your Word deep in our hearts. Help us, Lord, to confess our sins and receive Your abundant pardon. In Jesus name. Amen.

By Chuck Lawless In seventeen years of doing church consulting, no church leader has said to me, “Our church really doesn’t want to do the Great Commission.” I’ve worked with many churches, though, that proclaim the Great Commission but never get around to doing it. Here are my conclusions about why churches so often fit…
