WISDOM FOR TODAY

Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness… —Luke 4:1
In speaking of Jesus, John said, “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked” (1 John 2:6). The question is, how did Jesus walk? The answer is that He walked in Spirit?
When your life is lead by the Spirit, that means God will sometimes interrupt your plans. When that happens, when your day gets taken in another direction, or unexpected company drops by, you ought to stop and say, “Lord, what do You happen mind here?”
** God’s hand is in every disruption and every detour.
Notice that Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. We sometimes have the mistaken notion that a life led by the Spirit is a life full of roses and no problems. But that is not true. A life led by the Spirit may go in directions you didn’t plan. Will you trust Him even when you don’t understand?
God’s Spirit is with you. He will work all things out for you. As Jesus was filled with the Spirit, led by the Spirit, and empowered by the Spirit, so too we need to be filled, led and empowered. Trust him with your life, no matter how often He interrupts you, no matter where He chooses to take you.
Father, we offer You our time and our plans. Insert Yourself in our day, Father. Bring those conversations, those situations where You want to bring Your light. May we live each minute to Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen

For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God. —Romans 2: 28-29…
