Knowing God’s Will
Knowing God’s Will
Then he said, “The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will…” —Acts 22: 14 In Jerusalem, Paul told the Jews of his conversion on the Damascus Road, how he was temporarily blinded as the result of the brilliant light, and how he received his sight when Ananias came and laid hands on him. Ananias then told Paul that God had chosen him that he should know the will of God.
This applies to you and me as well. Because He loves you, God has chosen you that you should know His will.
Do you know what God has purposed and planned for you? This should matter to you, because everything you do that is separate from the will of God will pass away.
**Do you know what the will of God is for your life?
We can get so involved in just getting ourselves through day-to-day living that we don’t take eternity into consideration. But you have only one life and it will soon be past; and only what you do for Christ is going to last. (Famous CT STUDD poem)
How can you know God’s will for your life specifically? You discover God’s specific, individual purpose for you by “being transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12: 2). When you offer your body to God as an instrument willing to be used for His work, when you desire God’s plans above your own, then your life will become a progressive manifestation of God’s will.
Father, thank You for choosing us to spend eternity with You. Help us to look at our lives in view of eternity and always seek to do Your will. Amen.

Truly take your hands off the matter and commit it to Him. 2. Search the scriptures. He will reference His will via His scriptures. Revealed truth. 3. Seek Godly counsel. Include your wife. 4. Pay attention to circumstances. What are they saying? 5. Confess and repent of known sin.
