WISDOM FOR TODAY
His Workmanship
His Workmanship
We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. —Ephesians 2:10
God has your future all mapped out—every second of every moment, every hour of every day. He knows exactly what He wants you to do in this world for His glory, and He knows exactly what He needs to work out in your life today to prepare you for tomorrow’s tasks. What a comfort to know that before we drew our first breath, God had a design in mind for us and already knew every step He would take in order to work out His sovereign plan for us.
**God is working in you because you are His workmanship. May we yield to His touch.
Many of the things God does, or allows, don’t seem very pleasant at the moment. In fact, sometimes those things are very unpleasant. Because we are not able to see the bigger picture—the completed picture—we don’t understand how those unpleasant lessons are working together to complete the puzzle. Sometimes God’s decisions confuse or unsettle us. Nothing seems right; nothing seems like a right fit. But in the end, we will see that every single part was necessary to create the life God wanted to build in us.
Those times of preparation are not easy, but they are necessary. God is working in you because you are His workmanship. May we yield ourselves to His touch that He might mold and shape us according to His purposes. May we use our every breath to bring Him glory and honor.
Father, thank You for that work that You have done and are doing in our lives today. We want to be vessels that glorify You. Have Your perfect way with us, Lord. Train us for Your use. In Jesus’ name, amen.
