He Cares For You
He Cares for You
Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.—1 Peter 5: 7
Hannah, as the Old Testament tells us, was tormented by her inability to conceive a child. When she tried to talk to her husband about the issue, it only caused a rift in their marriage. To make matters worse, her husband’s other wife, Peninnah, taunted and teased her until the pressure became so great that Hannah had lost her appetite and couldn’t stop weeping. When she traveled with her husband to Shiloh for one of the feast days, she cast her cares unto the Lord. She told Eli the priest, “I am a woman with a sorrowful heart and I poured out my soul to the Lord.” And Eli said to her, “Go your way, and may the Lord grant your request.”
** The Lord is near—and He is willing and able to take my burdens and carry them for me.
Her husband had not helped her with her sorrow, but when Hannah brought her burden to God, she received assurance that He would take care of it.
Satan wants you to believe that you are all alone in your issue. He wants to deceive you into believing that nobody understands and nobody really cares. But God understands. God cares. And because He cares so much, He tells you to cast all your cares on Him.
Though I may fail again and again, though I may bring trouble into my life, God has promised that He would never leave me nor forsake me. Oh, how that thought encourages me! I am not alone.
Father, may we be quick to give You all of those concerns and cares that have been weighing us down. Thank You for lifting our heavy load. Amen.
