WISDOM FOR TODAY
God Knows
God Knows
I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them…—Exodus 3: 7-8
God’s people had been treated cruelly by the Egyptians for years. They could see no escape from their bondage. They cried unto God, but feared that He wasn’t listening.
** When going through trials, we often feel alone. We think nobody sees or understands. But God knows.
The Israelites didn’t know that God was already at work, that He had a plan. But He did.
God first told Moses, “I know what is going on.” Then He added, “For I know their sorrows.” A lot of times all I really need to know is that somebody knows, understands, and cares.
But God takes it one step further. He says, “Moses, I see, I’ve heard their cries, I know their sorrows, and I have come to deliver them.”
I am so glad that the God I serve is a God who can see, a God who can hear, a God who knows, and a God who is able to do exceedingly above all I ask or all I need. He is able to take the impossible situation and turn it around.
You may be in a pretty tough situation. You have been crying unto the Lord, but you wonder if He hears. God is saying to you, “I have seen your affliction. I’ve heard your cry. I know your sorrow. And I have come this day to deliver.”
Father, we thank You that You are a living, powerful God, able to do exceedingly abundantly above what we need, ask, or imagine. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
