Eyes To See
Eyes To See
And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. —2 Kings 6:17
When Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, woke up and looked out, he saw the chariots of the Syrian army surrounding the city of Dothan. Running back inside, he said to Elisha, “There’s no way out. We’re surrounded.”
Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid. There are more with us than are with them.” Then he prayed that his servant’s eyes would be opened so that he might catch a glimpse of the spiritual realm. And when Gehazi’s eyes were opened, he saw chariots of fire surrounding the enemy.
***How different things look when our spiritual eyes are opened!
When we just look at our physical circumstances, we despair. But if you can look at the spiritual truth, you will gain a whole new perspective. Rather than certain defeat, you see certain victory. With my spiritual eyes and the Word of God as my guide into spiritual things, I can see what God is doing, and I can rejoice because I know that Christ has already won the battle over the forces of darkness and evil.
*May God open up our eyes to see the power that is available to us through Jesus Christ and by the Holy Spirit, that we can know and have God’s complete and full victory in our lives.
Father, we thank You that we need not be defeated in any areas of our lives. God, open our eyes that we might see the truth and the reality of the spiritual realm. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Victory in Christ Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ. —2 Corinthians 2:14 The word triumph is a word that presupposes conflict. As children of God, we are in constant conflict. Basically, three forces battle our Christian experience: the world (the world system that is in rebellion against God),…
